24 Weeks

Well, there's not much new on the baby front. The little guy has been moving a lot more, which is really fun to feel. Last night some good friends gave us some of their baby clothes, since their two boys are now preschool age. I was all weepy just looking through them. I can't wait to have our little man here to put in them. They were so cute.

The main focus of this week for me has been the daycare project at church. We're planning on opening a daycare in the west wing of our building, and I was put in charge of all the state licensing. So I put in extra hours to get that finished, plus look ahead at what needs to be done this week (put together business plan, price out catering, assemble all policies/manuals, etc), and on top of that have time for some kids ministry stuff. Whew. I've been busy.

Then on Saturday, after sleeping in and enjoying a big breakfast, Chris and I deep cleaned the kitchen. The oven, stove & refrigerator were cleaned. Everything was pulled out of the cupboards and wiped down. Even the garbage can was cleaned. It was a lot of work, but boy it sure feels nice to have a clean kitchen. Then last night Chris and I went to the "Laugh your Way to a Better Marriage" workshop at church. We had fun spending time with friends and laughing together. It's been a busy week and weekend, but really good. I guess I'll relax tomorrow.

23 weeks

Here's the 23 week picture. Not much different from the last few weeks. We took it right after church today, which is why I probably look tired. Sunday's take a lot out of me. I love what I do, but it can be exhausting. We also decided last week as a church to start up our own daycare, so I've been pretty busy with that as well. Let's just say I'm glad for days off :o)

Chris and I enjoyed a nice dinner out on Friday night in an attemp to pre-empt the Valentine crowd. Then on Saturday night, we went to a Stampede Hockey game. They were playing Green Bay. It was an awesome game. Through the course of the night, the Stampede scored 6 goals beating Green Bay, weiner dogs raced across the ice, a guy proposed to his girlfriend and a sweet fight ensued after the game ended. What a night! No better way to spend Valentines day than to see guys get checked into the wall and punched in the face. Ahh, love.

We did get a good laugh because baby kept kicking me during the whole first period. I mean, really kicking me. It didn't hurt, but he was moving way more than normal. I think he likes hockey; already showing us that he's all boy.

It's a Boy!!

Chris and I went in for the ultrasound yesterday morning and it was amazing! We finally were able to see the little person that's been wiggling around inside me for the last few months. And I mean wiggling! Ever since I woke up that morning, he was moving like crazy. He must of known he was getting his picture taken. Baby also kept moving all over the place during the ultrasound. The poor dr. had a hard time taking measurements since he kept moving around so much. But we were able to take home a few good face shots. To see all the pictures, click here. They were eventually able to see all his little parts and everything looks great. We have a healthy baby boy! The doctor did say that he has pretty large feet though! Maybe he'll be tall. Or a really good swimmer. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

22 weeks

Although I've been feeling the baby move for a few weeks now, Chris still hasn't had the chance. But last week I was sitting at my desk with my hand resting on top of my stomach and I felt it. I felt the baby move with my hand. Then I looked, and I could actually see my stomach move just a tiny bit. It was amazing! So of course Chris wanted to feel, and a few days later, baby cooperated and he felt my tummy move too! He was so excited. It's becoming more and more real each week.

I also had to do some more clothes shopping last week. Up until now, I've been mixing some maternity tops with my regular clothes. But now most of my shirts are too short so I had to expand my mommy wardrobe. Fortunately my pants still fit with the help of a bella band, but I do have a few pair of maternity pants on hand for when the day comes that that won't work anymore. I'm also starting to "look" more pregnant. Now instead of people thinking I may just be getting chubby, it's obvious there's a baby inside.

21 weeks

This week seemed to be the week that the baby really "popped". At least for me. Although baby hasn't really gotten in the way, I am fully aware that he/she's there. Like everytime I roll over in bed or bend over to pick something up. Baby has also been moving a lot more this week; usually around meal times. It's such a wonderful feeling to feel this little person wiggle around inside me. Chris is anxious to feel the baby move too. I can already tell he's so in love with this little person. He talks to my tummy everyday and tells our baby how much he loves him or her. He's going to be such a great daddy!

Next Monday is our ultrasound. I can't wait to finally look at the person I've been feeling for the last few weeks. We'll also be finding out if it's a boy or girl. We'll post more on that next week.

Last Thursday I went to my first prenatal work-out class at the gym. We did 1/2 hour of circuit training and then 1/2 hour of yoga and relaxation technique. It was nice to workout with people who are experiencing the same things as me and share stories and tips. One of the ladies leading the yoga is also a nurse, so she had some great exercises and stretches to do at home to stay fit. There's another circuit class tonight, so I'm going to check that out too. Maybe one of these days I'll venture into the pool. Maybe.
